This is my spooky tree painting made by paint. It is supposed to resemble the landscapes in the older Disney films. They are unrealistic spooky trees like in a movie. One new skill I learned from doing this is how to mix colors to really get the color you want. The main art elements I used are value, shape, space, and color. I used value in between the layers of ground in the painting. I also used color to show contrast and make the painting more mystical and pretty. This project is supposed to recreate scary looking trees in movies. I used the art elements to make my artwork more put together and drastic. It is important because I now know how to properly make colors and add detail to make things look the way you want them too.

This painting is my dreamtime painting. The media I used was paints and a little bit of oil pastels. My dreamtime is supposed to look like Hawaii and the landscape of it. As I drew it I thought of the brightness of the sun and sand, the clear blue waters. One new skill I learned, was how to dot using q-tips. The main art elements used are shape, space, color, and texture. In my opinion mostly texture. The project was supposed to show some sort of feelings we have or had for something. Mine conveys the good feelings of being in Hawaii. By using bright paints, and complementary colors, it made my dreamtime bright and happy just like my emotions. This expresses what I really love and feel good about.
This assignment is my pen and ink drawing. I used ink called India ink to draw my flower. The purpose of this was to try and recreate a picture of a flower so naturally, my drawing looks like a flower. One new skill I learned was how to show texture by cross hatching mad drawing lines. The main art elements used are line, value, shape, and form. By using these elements and different techniques, I was able to recreate the flower. This project was of a clean white flower. I used texture techniques to show colors and depth and edge. This is all important because I know know how to draw in a different way, and how to use lines to make depth and texture. This painting is my macro still life painting. The point of this was to show a natural motif. I used watercolor to make it. A new skill I learned to paint this was working with space. The main art elements I used are value, form, space, color, and texture. All together they made the picture on the iPad more realistic. This project was supposed to show how we could paint something in nature. I was able to accomplish this by using the space and all of the art elements listed above. This is important because when I paint other watercolor paintings I will know how to make them look nice and more realistic.
This assignment was called the water-color painting, where we had to paint leaves. We took pictures of groups of leaves and painted them using water colors. One new skill I learned during this project was shading and depth. I learned how to make the painting appear to have shadows and high points. The main art elements in this painting are value, form, color, and texture. Together, the made the painting look more realistic and flat and 2D. This project depicts a group of dark and worn multicolored leaves. They are all different shapes and colors and types of leaves. I used value to make the leaves appear 3D and color and texture to make them look more like the picture. The skills I learned of making things more realistic and layering colors, helps me in other painting I am doing and prevents more mistakes.
This drawing is a one point hallway drawing. Together, the three drawings make a triptych. Putting them together gives the allusion of an a panorama view of the hallways. We used pencils to sketch and draw the hallways. The main skill we used in this peice is one point perspective. We each used one point in our hallway, and together they make a three point drawing. Some of the art elements I used were line, value, shape, form, and space. This drawing makes it feel like you are standing at a corner in the school and looking down three hallways. By using value, it gave the illusion of the hallway getting smaller and smaller. Also by using form, it make the drawing look more realistic. This is important because learning and using these skills can prepare us for more elaborate drawing and teach us some essential elements of art. This drawing is called the one point perspective room drawing. We used one point to draw a realistic room with pencils. This was the first time we used one point perspective in a drawing. This was the new skill we learned and used.
The main art elements used in this are line, value, shape, form, and space. All of these together created a room that was realistic in porportion and depth. Theis project was for us to use one point to make a 3D room and use detail. Using lots of art elements I made a room that looks real and matches up nicely. This is important that I drew this because it taught me basic art skills that I have?will us in other paintings and drawings. |
